Invitation from the Chair

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in the 17^th International Conference on Photochemical Conversion and Storage of Solar Energy to be held in Sydney, Australia in July 2008. This biennial conference series represents the premier gathering of leading scientist from research institutions, universities, and industry working on photochemical energy conversion and storage of clean energy generation and environmental applications, which continues to be a field of major international academic and commercial interest. The event places strong emphasis on the attendance of, and presentations by, world leaders in the field and IPS17 will aim to sustain this feature through inviting renowned speakers. It will continue to provide pivotal contributions to stimulate interactions, discuss forefronts of strategically important technologies, and broaden and strengthen contacts and linkages with participants from around the world.

The backdrop for IPS17 will be Sydney's Darling Harbour, located in the City Centre and within walking distance to famous landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and the Sydney Opera House. Darling Harbour itself is a focal point for activity and entertainment and will provide an excellent opportunity to mix business and pleasure during your time in Sydney.

Finally, I am proud to say that IPS17 will represent the first time this conference is to be held in the southern hemisphere and will endeavour to provide an event which lives up to the high standards of its predecessors. I am looking forward to seeing you all in Sydney, Australia in July 2008.
